Alice Macmillan from Lewis took home the crown following her performance at the annual International Pan Celtic Festival in Carlow, Ireland. Image Ms Macmillan competed against winners of the 2020 and 2022 Royal National Mòd, and the Irish and Welsh equivalent competitions, an tOireachtas and Eisteddfod, to win the prestigious award. Singing in Scottish Gaelic, 2022 Mòd gold medallist Ms Macmillan represented the Scottish contingency along with previous Mòd traditional singing award-winners, Calum MacColl and Emma MacLeod. Congratulations to Alice and all of the competitors representing Scotland. International Pan Celtic Festival The International Pan Celtic Festival is a week-long event which celebrates the culture and language of the six Celtic nations: Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Breton, the Isle of Mann, and Cornwall. The annual festival, held the week following Easter and hosted in Carlow this year, consists of a series of competitions including in piping, dancing, clàrsach, and solo and choral singing.
