Our story Gaelic Week Edinburgh, formally "Edinburgh Gaelic Festival", was established by the University of Edinburgh in 2014 as an annual festival celebrating the Gaelic community of Edinburgh past and present. After two successful festivals in the first year, the University joined forces with the City of Edinburgh Council to deliver Gaelic Week Edinburgh in 2015. The event is now run collaboratively between the two organisations, and at the same time as the wider World Gaelic Week, established in 2021.
