The University's Gaelic flat initiative, Ar Fàrdach, is the new opportunity for Gaelic-speaking students from all disciplines to live together in a Gaelic-speaking environment. Ar Fàrdach aims to create a space where students can use Gaelic in their daily lives as the language of the home during term-time, regardless of the subject they are studying at University. This scheme is open to any student at the University of Edinburgh who is fluent in Gaelic, or who is willing and able to use Gaelic all the time. Supporting Gaelic use This scheme is part of the University’s Gaelic Plan 2025-2030 and contributes to the National Gaelic Plan’s aim to strengthen the language in the home and within our communities. As the number of Gaelic-speakers within our local community and across Scotland continues to grow, it is important that the University continues to seek ways to support our Gaelic-speaking students on and off campus. The University of Edinburgh Gaelic Plan 2025-2030 Where will I be living? This scheme is open to up to five students in any year of study. The Gaelic flat will be at Fraser Court, self-catered halls near Holyrood Park and an 18-minute walk from the University’s main campus. Fraser Court | UoE Accommodation How do I take part?
